在2016考研英语中，层次化句子的阅读法是一个相当重要的解题手段，想搞定2016考研英语，不懂层次化阅读法怎么可以？下面都教授根据主句专一原则和非简单句的分类原则，带各位考生来一起学习一下。

首先大家要在心中明确这样一个图表，该图形来表示非常简单句的结构图：

每一个方框表示一个分句，每一条线表示一个连接词；这样分句间的关系就只有两种：一种是并列，一种是主从复合。在以往的阅读过程中，我们往往会把主从复合句和并列句混淆，在句子解析的过程中没有层次感，进而对于句子的把握出现差错。同时在解析的过程中我们不需要考虑进结构图，即句子中的状语从句和同位语从句，因为这两个部分都是完全可以脱离整个句子而存在的。

【例子1】

However , for many years , physicists thought that atoms and molecules always were much more likely to emit light spontaneously and that stimulated emission thus always would be much weaker.

【解析】这个句子中主句是physicists thought that ... and that ...用结构图表示就是：

在理解的过程中可以分为两个层次：但是，多年以来，物理学家思考了两件事情，第一件事情是原子和分子通常都比较容易自行发光，第二件时间是收到刺激的发射通常比较弱。

【例子2】

It appeared that Canada was once more falling in step with the trend toward smaller  families that occurred through all we Western world since the time of the Industrial Revolution.

【解析】句子的分层结构是：It appeared that...that...结构图就是这样

1.It appeared that ...

可以发现

2.Canada was once more falling in step with the trend toward smaller families.

加拿大再一次陷入了往更小化家庭发展的趋势。

3.that occurred through all the Western would since the time of Industrial Revolution

这种趋势曾经在工业革命以来整个西方世界出现过。

【例3】
The history of clinical nutrition or the study of the relationship between health and how the body takes in and utilizes food substances , can be divided into four distinct eras : the first began in the nineteenth century and extended into the early twentieth century when it was recognized for the first time that food contained constituents that were essential for human function and that different foods provided different amounts of these essential agents.

【解析】

这个句子的分层结构是：The history of clinical clinical nutrition can be divided into four distinct eras:...when ..that ...that...and that...这个句子中or 后面的the study 为clinical nutrition 的同位语，可以先省略不看。
